A Tinned Copper Islamic Kashkul Beggar's Bowlwith Dragon-Head Handles, Deccan, 17th Century.
The kashkul features a deep, gently curving form with a flat foot and two dramatically rising handles that terminate in stylised open-mouthed dragon heads. The surface is densely adorned with bands of inscriptions in elegant calligraphy, encircling the body in multiple registers. Below the inscriptions, a wide decorative band displays repeating floral medallions interspersed with delicate blossoms, all bordered by fine geometric and vegetal motifs.
