A Qajar Illuminated Qur’an Manuscript on Paper, Iran, 19th Century.
An Arabic-Persian Qur’an manuscript comprising 175 folios. The text is rendered in elegant black naskh script, with 16 lines per page framed within thin gold borders and black rules. Distinctive sarlawh (illuminated headpieces) introduce key sections—one featuring tightly interwoven floral scrollwork on a gold and blue field, the other with extended lattice designs in blue and pale blue.
