A Qajar Lacquer Panel Depicting a Nobleman with a Child, 19th Century.
A finely painted Qajar lacquer panel showing a distinguished Persian nobleman seated in full regalia with a young boy, likely his son or a princely attendant, resting by his feet. The nobleman wears a tall astrakhan cap and a patterned robe adorned with a lavish belt, from which a sword with an embellished scabbard hangs. His commanding posture and direct gaze contrast with the playful innocence of the child, who holds a red fruit and is dressed in embroidered courtly garments and a green feathered crown.
Approximately 44.5 x 23.5cm
