A Persian Qalamkar Cotton Textile with Cypress and Peacock Motif, 18th–19th Century.
A large Persian qalamkar featuring a grand central cypress tree motif flanked by a pair of finely detailed peacocks, all emerging from a classical vase. The vivid red field is densely filled with floral sprays, while the surrounding panels are adorned with repeated paisley (boteh) designs in contrasting tones.
