A Portrait of Mozaffar al-Din Shah Qajar, Persia, 19th Century.
An oil on canvas portrait depicting Mozaffar al-Din Shah Qajar (r. 1896–1907), the fifth Qajar king of Persia, shown in full military regalia against a mountainous landscape. His elaborate uniform is adorned with gold-embroidered detailing, pearl-studded epaulettes, and a richly embellished green sash with turquoise jewels. He wears a tall black Qajar-style hat topped with a gold plume and emerald brooch. The background features lush trees, snow-capped peaks, and a palace, possibly evoking royal gardens or the Golestan complex.
